It is with great pleasure to invite you to the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine Midyear Convention and the Asian Spine Network Annual Convention. The theme of the convention is Strengthening Ties through Collaboration in Spinal Cord Injury Care.
The Local Organizing Committee has crafted a mind stimulating update on the rehabilitation of spinal cord injuries and also have invited speakers with vast experience in the field of Spinal Cord Medicine. This meeting hopes to strengthen ties and improve collaboration of our countries in improving our care of patients with Spinal cord injuries.
This collaboration between two esteemed organizations is most appreciated in this time of Covid. We would have loved you to be in the Philippines but due to impending restrictions, we can only be in a virtual meeting. The Academy welcomes your distinguished guests in our virtual world.
Mabuhay!
RAUL MICHAEL J. CEMBRANO, MD
President , PARM 2021-2022
MABUHAY!
We ardently welcome you to participate in a unique convention of special interest concerned with the care of SCI!
On behalf of our organizing team, our renowned expert speakers, and our valued partners, we eagerly await everyone to Strengthen, Collaborate, and be included in this event!
This is historical for the Asian Spinal Cord Network (ASCon) as it coincides with the second decade of their 20 years of Annual Convention and expansion across the Asian countries, and it is important for our country to have been invited to join the network and participate in their forum four years ago. Indeed, the ASCoN predecessor members have committed and sustained their initiative in supporting, improving, and expanding SCI care through training programs, research forums, and yearly conventions on our side of the continent.
This is significant for the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM) as it will be their first international partnership for an SCI-themed conference. SCI care is a core competency in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine. The facets of comprehensive management entail the expertise of multi-disciplines! With the rising incidence of SCI and its consequent disability, the need to increase, improve, and empower all the team of stakeholders is vital from Advocacy to Policy.
This is a milestone convention for PARM and ASCoN! We are truly blessed and grateful for the collaboration of organizations; the ISCOS ( International Spinal Cord Society), the PAPA (Philippine American Psychiatrist Association), the SPIRIT (Spinal Injuries Charity| SPIRIT), and all who joined to ensure that we will have a great convention!
Again, Mabuhay and Maraming Salamat!
